Long Term Care
If you’re looking at this web site there is a good chance you are not going to qualify for long-term care benefits through Medicaid. To qualify you must have less than $2,000 in assets with some allowances for personal needs.

 On the other hand, if you have vast assets with good liquidity you probably should self-insure. It’s those of us in the middle of these two extremes that need to consider long-term care protection. 

Baby boomers will create demand for more facilities, but will a supply of facilities and providers be there in order to keep prices in check? 

Long-term care includes medical and on-going nursing care services that are beyond doctor visits and return to health issues. 

Long-term care is when you need help with basic functions of daily living- bathing, eating and dressing; it’s when you have dementia. 

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, Americans age 65 and over have a 40% chance of entering a nursing home at some point during their lives. More than half of people over age 85 will require help with activities of daily living. 

The cost for long-term care is huge and it is growing larger year by year. 

Unfortunately, Medicare doesn’t cover it and Medicare Supplements won’t help.
